AUTUMN 2024
1. I am delighted to be offering SOMATIC EXPERIENCING sessions. This is a natural healing modality, developed by Dr Peter Levine, that works with your internal sensations, also known as the “felt sense”, to build capacity and resilience in the nervous system, and to safely and slowly renegotiate high activation states that previously overwhelmed the nervous system (i.e. events we classify as Trauma). If you are interested in this work, please contact me directly, and we will set up a free introductory session. As I am still in training, ongoing sessions are offered at a very discounted price.
2. As of the end of October, I will be working at Lotus and Thistle on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. All other appointments are at my house.
3. I am currently NOT accepting new clients for massage therapy.
4. For massage and craniosacral therapy sessions, I would like to encourage you to bring your own sheets with you, for hygienic and environmental reasons: A clean single fitted and single flat sheet, preferably laundered in scent-free detergent.
5. I will be going to Scotland for the Christmas Holidays, returning to Nova Scotia at the start of January for the winter, which I am so looking forward to.
Thank you

Massage Therapy
Massage Therapy is a holistic modality that restores balance between the body and the mind. It brings a deeper awareness to the body and what it is telling us and, by cultivating awareness through our sessions, we can work to prevent stress and re-injury.
Therapeutic massage engages muscles, connective tissue and fascia to alleviate pain and muscle spam. It enhances circulation through the blood and lymphatic vessels, mobilizes restricted joints, and calms the nervous system. I use a variety of techniques tailored to you that include fascial release, trigger point therapy, deep tissue massage, general Swedish massage, joint manipulation, stretching, breath work and Craniosacral therapy. Therapeutic massage also works on the mental-emotional levels to bring calm by reducing the tone in the sympathetic nervous system thus decreasing stress levels.
Each session begins with a discussion of your reasons for coming to massage, followed by a 50-60minute massage, and ends with suggestions of exercises to stretch, strengthen and mobilize, and a suggestion of a treatment plan if necessary, to assist your return to full function.
